TCS to process passport applications

There will be more of a cheer to the people and relief from those whose long waiting in queues for processing of their passport application would be a distance past. TCS has wond the bid to handle all the processing work related to issuance of passport, including police verfication and other procedures, the only exception being the printing of the passport.

This would be the first time that passport processing has been outsourced. The Ministry of External Affairs has issued more than 80 lakh passports last year and is expected to grow by 20% this year.
